Having used this theme (MW 1.0) for a day or so I’m wondering it is ‘right’ for me. I’m not really happy with the layout… it seems too cluttered and hard to navigate. I’ll have a look around for a different one. WordPress has a thriving community of developers so there has to be a load of themes that’ll do… even if I lose the adverts :) For a start there is this one called ‘Revved Up’ which I quite like… tho I might experiment a bit and remove the background image etc to see how it looks when ‘clean’.

Part of the problem is trying to draw attention to the ‘Money Maker’ pages without overpowering the blog itself, which after all is the main purpose of the site… hmmm… anybody got some suggestions??

Well strictly speaking *I* didn’t buy it… the wife did. My old one finally gave up the ghost few weeks ago and lost ll my data in the process. Since then I’ve been at a loose end and my fingers just haven’t felt the same with nothing to do. :)

Still… like I said, yesterday the wife went off and bought me a new one. The model is an O2 Xda IIs with a slide-out ‘qwerty’ keyboard. This one is also wireless connected so when I configure it I might to be able to use it with the house network – no bad thing! More later once it’s fully charged and I have it configured.

Got most of the email programs I belong to up in the Money Maker section. Also added a few of the payment processors. I’m not sure which section to add next – I’ll probably decide tomorrow.

One option would be to pursue the actual ‘Paid-To-Click’ (PTC) programs which isn’t such a bad idea – I belong to a couple but in order to get paid you *must* upgrade and I’ve baulked at that until now. But I suppose the time has come to bite the bullet else I’ll not have the information I need to update the site. Such is life :D

I’ve entered some of the ‘income generating’ programs into the Money Maker page. To start with I’ve added the more solid of the ‘Pay to Read’ email sites since they are a safer bet than some of the ones to follow. Most pay out, but only in small amounts… to earn larger figures you have to take more risks… but this is the nature of the beast online.

More ‘Money Makers’ to come shortly!

Tried to run a tool supposedly converting posts on the old Nucleus installation into the new WordPress one. Of course it didn’t work… probably my own fault but it means that (yet again) I’ll have to manually copy the entire lot over… gawd… as if I don’t have *enough* going on already :)

Tried to install a spam eliminator plugin and it told me I needed to get an API key from www.wordpress.com before it would work… so off I goes to get it… join the site… and up pops another blog called Opinion Australia…. very weird if you ask me! I wonder why I couldn’t just link that account to this pre-existing blog?? Will make enquiries and find out :)

Been ignoring this a bit for a while. I’ve had so much going on in the ‘personal’ life that everything outside has been ignored! Time to change back I think. This new configuration will let me combine a couple of the sites I’ve been working on into one.

For example, you’ll have noticed the site now carries adverts? These have come from a ‘money maker’ site I was developing elsewhere… and might yet finish … but as yet isn’t ready for public view.

Because it’s not ready, but I have affiliate status with the programs, I figured I may as well add them in here as well (a) to give them some exposure and (b) to give people the chance to opt in as well. Still… enough about that… I’ll cover the details in a ‘section’ once I’m fully back into the swing of WordPress. For now… back to work… and back to reading the *real* news :)

Well all sorts of things. I’ve been slowly getting on with the development of the other sites and making a few decision about the way they will be going. There is a lot of groundwork to be done while I’m preparing for ‘the big push’ and it’s taking up loads of time sadly.

I expect to be working on this most of the day though so if you drop back tomorrow you may well see some radical changes… well I *hope* you see some radical changes. You might not see *anything*… and that’s happened more than once! :)

As you can see in response to numerous demands we are in the process of updating the theme… and in fact reverting toWordpress… unfortunately despite being in the middle of the update the kids are demanding breakfast so I have to go and sort them out… but will be back as soon as!!
