So I got an email telling me WordPress 3.0  in all its glory was released and ready for install/upgrade. So obviously… off I went to do it.

The upgrade path for WordPress is remarkably simple. You click on ‘Automatic Upgrade’ and follow the screen prompts.

All went well up until the last instruction which read “Clear up Installation files”… and the site died.

Stright away I shot over to www.wordpress.org and asked for help. Within minutes a moderator called esmi responded with complete easy to follow advice and ten minutes later… here we are… all fixed, all upgraded… and all ready to be ignored again! :)

Seems one or more of the plugins I had installed wasn’t upgraded by the developer and needed to be uninstalled. Simple really.

Just in case tho I’ve exported the entire site (sans images) and uploaded it to the ‘backup site’ at wordpress.com. Well… you never know do you? :)
